Opposition leaders, however, defended the clip, arguing that public events and governance cannot be viewed in isolation. They said the video reflected citizen frustration over persistent pollution and was a legitimate expression of public sentiment.

“This is not about Messi; it’s about accountability,” an opposition leader said, asserting that global attention on India should also prompt discussion on urban challenges like air quality.
