BSNL’s 4G Rollout Enters Operation Transition Mode  Next Phase of Funding Decision Looms

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), India’s state-owned telecom operator, has entered a new and important stage in its 4G rollout project. The company has officially moved into what it calls the “operation transition” mode. This phase focuses on testing, improving, and preparing the 4G network for smooth operation across India.

BSNL’s 4G rollout has been one of the biggest projects in India’s telecom sector. The goal is to bring faster internet connectivity to every corner of the country, especially in rural and remote areas. The network is being built with the help of Indian companies and technology, which supports the government’s “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiatives.

What is Operation Transition Mode?

The operation transition mode is a process where BSNL tests the 4G equipment, checks coverage strength, and ensures quality service before launching the network widely. During this stage, BSNL teams work with Indian telecom technology partners like ITI Limited and TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) to handle technical fine-tuning and address any network challenges.

BSNL is expected to roll out 4G services in more circles once testing in the pilot areas shows stable performance. The company aims to complete this transition smoothly before entering full commercial operations.

Next Phase and Funding Decision

The next stage of the project will depend on final decisions regarding funding and future expansion. According to telecom sources, BSNL will soon discuss the financial requirements with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to plan for the next funding phase. The government has already extended major financial support to revive BSNL and help it compete with private telecom giants like Jio, Airtel, and Vi.

With the completion of the transition phase, BSNL will be ready to move into the next phase  expanding its 4G coverage nationwide and preparing for 5G in the near future. The company is confident that once funding and approvals are finalized, users will experience a new level of speed and reliability.

A Step Toward Digital India

BSNL’s 4G project plays a major role in India’s goal of becoming a fully digital nation. Once the rollout is complete, millions of customers across cities and villages will benefit from faster connectivity, better call quality, and affordable data plans.

This project shows BSNL’s strong comeback in the telecom sector and its commitment to providing quality service through Indian technology and innovation.
